Hospitality
This space for Tileyard Studios in Kings Cross needed to function as both a venue for live music and events, and an adaptable site for co-working and educational workshops. Acoustics were a primary concern, so the stage wall and room dividing curtains are sound absorbent, as are the ceiling and wall panels, which are designed to appear like speaker cabinets. This palette and associated details of 1970s sound systems was carried through into the cabinetry. Given the public nature of the venue and opportunities for media coverage, the client’s newly resolved logotype needed to be incorporated. It appears as a lightbox on the stage wall, as well as in details throughout, such as stainless steel badges on the acoustic panels, which mimic makers' emblems.
